I’m happy to share my full review of the New Big Wolf Inn in Scottsdale, Salt River, Arizona. This kid-friendly resort offers many fun options for families. Continue reading the good…and the bad. 😉

Hi, friends! Hope you have a wonderful morning. Today I’m sharing a new comment Big Wolf Hotel in Scottsdale! This is a super fun and child-friendly resort that the whole family will love! Let’s take a look at this review and see what we think to see if your family wants space!

We spent 3 days and 2 nights at the brand new Big Wolf Hotel which was basically a dream come true for a child. The girls lost their mind! Over the years, I’ve seen some posts about the Big Wolf Hotel and finally I’m happy to bring the crew. When I found out this summer we got one, I booked our room on the first day and they opened the booking system. During this process, the website crashed several times. I was able to find a room at the end of this month and it ended up being their grand opening weekend. The house prices are fair and I’m happy to pay.

Great Wolf Lodge is a family-friendly resort with a Lodge “Campfire” atmosphere. two Wolf Mascot, Willy and Violet and other charactersstroll around the property for photo operations, and there are plenty of fun facilities.

Activities in Big Wolf Hotel Scottsdale

I was shocked by the number of activities they offered on site. They have a mini golf area, golden flat view, mine exploration activities, an indoor rope course, a mini bowling alley, a climbing wall and a full indoor water park. The water park is climate controlled to 86 degrees year-round and has a variety of slideshows, lazy rivers, wave pools, huge splash pads and a baby/toddler area.

Within the resort, they also host a building bear workshop, a kids area (they offer nursery), a candy shop and a magician.

Magiquest ended up being one of the hits for the kids. This is an indoor treasure hunt using magic wands (you buy it for around $20). You also pay an extra $15 to participate in the Magiquest game, and with the different attractions throughout the property – their marked Leaf Small – you throw your wand over the object and something will happen.

It can be something small, like a picture on the wall that will illuminate or do something very intense, like a huge animated dragon that will come to life. You have to follow the “task path”, collect different runes and objects, and fight different characters on the screen throughout the property, and it can become a very involved game. This part is really magical, with kids everywhere running around, waving their wands, and heading to the portal to see what they need to do next. It’s very Harry Potter.

On Saturday morning, the girls and I got on the road early and drove quickly to Scottsdale. We checked into the hotel where the girl received the cute wolf ear headband,

And since our room wasn’t ready, we spent an hour on the arcade, which was conveniently open 24/7. 🙂 I managed to win the laziness of filling for each from a claw machine and they are pumping.

We entered our room and grabbed dinner on site before heading to the water park. We spent hours jumping around the waves, playing on the splash pads, and the girls rode the slides until bedtime. When we all crashed, the pilot entered the room and for the next few days we alternated between the water park and indoor activities. It’s a great family stay and an ideal way to celebrate the end of the airline training.

Professionals

Activity. I was surprised at how many activities included. Including the water park, we spend hours a day, they also provide daily schedules and various activities within the hours. These include character greetings, facial painting, story time, dance with Wolves, bingo and more. Some other activities are extra purchases such as bowling, rope lessons, golden swings, rock walls, and more. I didn’t find the price unreasonable. You can buy a wolf pass for each child, but I’m not sure how much we actually did, so I chose it.

Water park. The girls love the water park and we spend hours here every day. They each have a lot to do and I think it’s perfect for babies all the way to teenagers.

shortcoming

food. The food is overpriced and terrible. We usually like hotel food – the girls are so fascinated by room service – we can easily find something we all love. This is not the case here at all. Even if you compare it to Disney food, it’s overpriced, but at least it’s a good food and they have a lot of options. I found these options very limited, not very healthy/fresh and overpriced. I would say the fries are great, but you can’t give them a baby in 3 days. 😉 (Liv even said the pizza is rough, I’ve never heard her say it before.)

This is the most pathetic taco of your life. They are called “Fajita Veggie Tacos” and are topped with tiny tortillas, each taco filled with pico salsa and a slice of Bell pepper or two.

We are in Arizona. We did a great job, it was just a hatred.

Since it just opened, Great Wolf Lodge is clearly still working on some tangles. It is not uncommon to try something (such as a vending machine or a beverage machine) to find it broken. We also found that the room was like this. The duvet is about half an inch. I slept badly when I felt the blanket was just a sheet. So I picked up a towel from the bathroom and covered myself with it. They also have a smoke detector in the room, which flashes super bright light every 10 seconds. The first night we didn’t sleep well.

What’s nearby?

The good news is that prep and pastries, fashion squares and more are only 12 minutes away. There are also many great dining options nearby. There is no denying that Scottsdale has a lot of delicious food. So, I think it’s worth mentioning the real meal, but just relying on the Big Wolf’s Lodge for bites and snacks. (Some of my entertainment: olives and ivy, real food kitchen, cassia for lunch, blanco tacos and butter.)

The Big Wolf Inn Scottsdale is conveniently located near a variety of attractions, making it an ideal base for family entertainment. Just a few steps away, you can explore Desert Ridge Market Shopping and Dining, or check out the underwater world of the Odyssey Aquarium. For those who want to enjoy some kind of nature, Pinnacle Peak Park has many amazing, scenic hiking trails with breathtaking desert views.

We checked out the brand new Scottsdale Prep & Pastry location and ordered all of our favorites. The chickpea scramble is amaaa.

How does the Great Wolf Hut compare to Disney?

They are completely different animals. (< - See what I'm doing there? Obviously, it's been around for a long time and any grinding issues are already good and really solved.

The great Wolf Lodge isn’t trying to be Disney, they have a very interesting job and they do a great job. But this is just a different experience. I mean, we still had absolutely great time, but it wasn’t where we were like “I can’t wait to go again”. All in all, I think it’s definitely worth it. I’m sure the girls will want to go back at some point. I highly recommend it, even once. It’s still a really cool experience.

Currently, it’s back to the swing here! I have several conference calls and will be entering cardio!

I hope you have a great morning and I will see you soon.

xoxo
